Run To Win

Article by Pastor D. Sutherland

Philippians 3v14 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (Philippians 3:14) .

You Are What You Think

Romans 12v2“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”(Proverbs 23:7)

The Word of God says that we are what we think in our hearts. Our character, how we see ourselves, how others see us, our victories and failures are not a result of chance or favor, but a result of our thought lives. Good thoughts bear good fruit, bad thoughts bad fruit (Matthew 7:17). Continue reading

The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

(Psalms 34:19)
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

(Psalms 25:20)

The Holy Spirit Within You!

John 14v16-17“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6)

“…wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence” (Acts 1:4-5)

The Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God, is a promise from God, our Heavenly Father, to all who have been genuinely born from above. He comes to live within you and to give you eternal life. Continue reading

Scriptures For The Family

Joshua24v15 (Isaiah 54:13)
And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

(Acts 16:31)
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

(Ephesians 5:21-26)
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. Continue reading

No Vision?

paper and pencil“Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18)

“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry” (Habakkuk 2:2-3)

God has made it very clear in His Word that without a vision (a dream, a revelation) His people, you and me, will perish – lose our way, get out of control. Yet so many believers sit in “church” (we are the church) for up to forty years without having a clue as to God’s will and purpose for their lives. They have no vision, which can only come, not by just going to “church”, but by having a relationship with God through prayer, praise, and feeding on His Word. Continue reading
