“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4).
So often we, as believers, forget the awesome work Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. In Christ is the newness of life. We are “a new creation…all things have become new”(2 Corinthians 5:17), and so we were instructed to walk in the newness of life. Our old man was crucified with Christ and the life which we now live in the flesh, we live by faith in the Son of God, who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20).
