“Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. And on a cold night, two under the same blanket can gain warmth from each other. But how can one be warmed alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NLT)
“Just as our bodies have many parts, and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of His one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others” (Romans 12:4-5 NLT)
What can I say? Unity is a crucial, important and powerful factor in the body of Christ. It strengthens the body of Christ, not in our own strength, but in God’s strength because He is in our midst. The Word of God says that we are all one body in Christ, and that we all belong to each other. Without unity we are attacked and defeated. With unity we have the opportunity and the ability to:
* cover each other
* reach out and help each other
* stand back-to-back and conquer the enemy in Jesus’ Name
* have our prayers answered when we pray according to the will of God
* successfully intercede on behalf of others and for the souls of the lost
It is my belief that there is little or no unity in the body of Christ at this time. The body of Christ is disjointed, and so render itself weak and powerless in a dying and wicked world. It is no wonder that Jesus, Himself, said “… Yes, worldly people are smarter with their own kind than spiritual people are” (Luke 16:8 NCV).
However, for those believers in Christ Jesus who are out there all alone, be encouraged. There is hope! The body of Christ will be united. Christ is coming back for a church without “spot or wrinkle”, and He is coming back soon. Hallelujah!
Heavenly Father, in the precious name of Jesus, I pray Ephesians 3:14-21
For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
of whom the whole family in Heaven and earth is named,
that He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
that Christ may dwell in our hearts by faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height,
and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, forever. Amen.
“He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places”(Psalm 18:33)
“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth”(Psalm 34:1)
